S.Korea Requests Additional Aircraft Support from US

South Korea has reportedly requested additional provision of reconnaissance by U.S. aircraft to step up monitoring of North Korea ahead of the G20 summit.

A military official said Seoul has asked the U.S. for additional operations by its U-2 spy planes, its Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft, and one or two additional units of F-22 Raptors.

The chief of the U.S. Pacific Command, Admiral Robert Willard, who was in Seoul to attend the 13th Chiefs of Defense Conference, said that the U.S. is prepared to support Seoul as it hosts the G20 summit.
