Four Jindo dogs, a canine breed indigenous to South Korea, are expected to soon become members of the canine units at the Los Angeles Police Department and the Glendale Police Department.

LAPD canine trainers thoroughly checked the abilities of the Jindos during two rounds of testing in Korea.

U.S. police usually use German shepherds for police dogs.

The Jindos will be the first Asian dog breed to join a U.S. canine unit.
