N.Korea Fails Nuclear 'Report Card'

A new report by the independent U.S. Arms Control Association (ACA) finds that North Korea has been a major supplier of nuclear weapon and missile technology to other nations and has added to proliferation risks in Asia and the Middle East.

Daryl Kimball, the executive director of the association says that North Korea has violated nearly every nonproliferation and disarmament standard over the past two years and warrants an overall failing grade.
North Korea failed seven out of ten requirements and received a poor grade in the remaining three categories.

The association noted that North Korea is the only nation to have conducted a nuclear test in the past 12 years and that it could be seeking to conduct more such tests in the future.

The association emphasized that putting a stop to North Korea’s production and sale of nuclear substances must be a priority.
