Asia Economic Community Forum Opens

The city of Incheon and the Asia Economic Community Foundation will co-host the 2010 Asia Economic Community Forum in Incheon from Sunday through Tuesday.

This forum will uncover and seek solutions to various current issues regarding Asian economies, as well as those on world economy.

This is the second such meeting following one last year.

After the official opening ceremony, chair professor at Yale University Immanuel Wallerstein will deliver a keynote address on Northeast Asia under a multipolarized global system. His address will be followed by a keynote speech on economics delivered by 1998 Nobel economic prize winner and Harvard University professor Amartyr Sen.

Other speakers include Director of Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center at Stanford University, Professor of Keio University Naoyuki Yoshino, and Professor at UC Berkeley Gerard Roland. The speakers as well as other renowned scholars from around the world will discuss some 30 economic issues.

The forum will conclude with the announcement of the Incheon Consensus.
