Captured Pirates to be Taken to S.Korea

The five pirates who were captured by the South Korean military in the rescue operation for the “Samho Jewelry” on January 21st will be transported to South Korea early Sunday morning.

A source in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) said the UAE government has agreed to allow the use of its royal family’s jet upon the request of the South Korean government in order to have the pirates quickly sent to South Korea.

The source said the plane will take off from the UAE early Saturday morning to arrive at Gimhae Airport in South Korea. They will reportedly be interrogated by the South Korean Coast Guard upon their arrival and will then be prosecuted.

The South Regional Headquarters of the Korea Coast Guard have completed preparations for the interrogation.
