U.S. deputy assistant secretary of state Joseph Donovan is reportedly being considered to take over as the next U.S. ambassador to South Korea.

The U.S. publication Foreign Policy says that Donovan is being considered as a replacement for current ambassador and longtime career foreign service officer Kathleen Stephens.

According to Foreign Policy, the move would be in line with President Barack Obama’s plans to replace a number of officials dealing with East Asian affairs.
