Evacuated S.Koreans Arrive in SK

A chartered Korean Air plane carrying South Koreans evacuated from Libya arrived in South Korea Saturday night.

It was the second charter plane the Seoul government had sent to evacuate its nationals out of Libya. On Friday, an Egypt Air charter flight brought 198 South Koreans to Cairo.

The flight carried some 235 South Korean construction workers and residents in Libya as well as three foreigners.

The evacuated South Koreans said that government forces and anti-government protesters are clashing violently. They said Libya is in turmoil and that they felt endangered there.

The chartered flight left Libya with fewer evacuees than planned with some workers choosing to remain there.
