Two rocket-propelled grenades fell near the base where a South Korean provincial reconstruction team (PRT) is located in Afghanistan at around 1 a.m. Friday, Korean time. No casualties were reported.

An official from South Korea’s Foreign Ministry said the explosions took place outside the base in the northern Afghan city of Charika.

South Korea and Afghanistan have since launched a joint on-site inspection.

This is the fourth time the South Korean PRT base has been attacked by assailants with rocket-propelled grenades since it was built in May of last year.
