'NK Heir Orders Vigilance against Middle East Turmoil'

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il’s heir apparent, Kim Jong-un, has reportedly ordered the North Korean government to strengthen vigilance against any possible domestic fallout related to the Middle East democratization movement.

Quoting sources familiar with Chinese and North Korean affairs, Japan’s Yomiuri Shimbun said that the younger Kim delivered the order to senior officials of the military and the Workers’ Party in late February.

According to the paper, Kim Jong-un said that North Korea should be on high alert in order to deal with complex international situations, and that hostile forces including the U.S. are attempting to overthrow the North Korean regime.

He also reportedly said that some North Koreans are experiencing ideological confusion.
