Int’l Oil Prices Fall after Japanese Quake

International oil prices have dropped following the massive earthquake in Japan on Friday.

The Korea National Oil Corporation said spot prices of Dubai crude on Friday fell by two-and-a-quarter dollars per barrel from Thursday’s prices to 108 dollars.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, prices of West Texas Intermediary for April delivery dropped about one-and-a-half dollars per barrel to 101 dollars.

Oil prices fell as experts forecast that Japan’s demand for crude oil would fall due to the ripple effects resulting from the devastating earthquake.

Japan is the world’s second-largest importer of oil.
