Another Fukushima Nuke Plant Not Operating Properly

Another nuclear reactor is not working properly at the Fukushima Daiichi plant in Japan.

On Sunday morning, the Fukushima Daiichi plant’s Unit Three has also reported abnormal operation, after it lost its emergency cooling system.

But the Tokyo government stresses the reactor has not been damaged and there won't be a large scale radioactive leakage.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano told a news conference Sunday that 180-thousand residents near the Unit One plant and 30-thousand near the Unit Two plant began to evacuate from the morning.

The plant’s Unit One exploded earlier on Saturday. Due to the Saturday explosion, 24 people have been exposed to radioactive material.

Nine residents living within a 20-kilometer radius from the plant were tested and their radioactive exposure has been confirmed. Fifteen patients at a hospital ten kilometers away have also been exposed.
