China is reportedly seeking to launch a sea route for container ships that will connect the Chinese city of Tumen with the South Korean port city Busan.

The route will also run through the North Korean cities of Namyang and Cheongjin.

China Jilin, a Chinese newspaper, reported that plans are proceeding smoothly and awaiting the approval of South Korea’s Unification Ministry.

China and North Korea have already reached agreement on the plan.
