US: Nothing Decided on NK Food Aid

The United States says nothing has been decided on U.S. food aid to North Korea.

The U.S. says factors including the North's food demand levels, fairness with other countries and food distribution transparency should first be comprehensively reviewed.

The U.S. State Department's Special Envoy for North Korean Human Rights Issues Robert King made this remark during a forum hosted by the American Enterprise Institute. Regarding the need for food aid to the North, he said now is the time to review how to monitor the food aid process.

King also said the U.S. government does not consider political reasons in deciding whether to provide humanitarian food aid to certain countries.
