A U.S. civilian intelligence agency says that a Web site serving as a mouthpiece of Al-Qaeda has confirmed the death of Osama bin Laden.

According to the Search for International Terrorists Entities Intelligence Group (SITE), which tracks the online activity of terrorist organizations, an Islamic fundamentalist said on the Shumukh al-Islam forum that bin Laden was killed during a U.S. operation.

The fundamentalist praised the Al-Qaeda leader on the forum as a person who sacrificed his soul and money to fight against the U.S.

The Web site, which means pride of Islam, has asked its members not to post messages on bin Laden’s death until a guerilla military group in Afghanistan, Mujahedin, has confirmed it. But a stream of messages pledging a continued fight against the U.S. has been posted on the Web site.
