Hyundai, Kia Saw Strong Growth in Sales in US

Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors Corporation saw strong growth in sales in the United States last month.

Hyundai Motor America said Wednesday that it sold 61-thousand units last month, or a 40 percent increase from the same period last year. The figure was the highest to be recorded for the month of April.

Meanwhile, Kia sold around 47-thousand units in the U.S. last month, a jump of nearly 57 percent from the same period last year. The figure was the highest monthly figure ever to be recorded.

Overall, the two carmakers sold roughly 108-thousand units in the U.S. in April, outperforming Japan’s Nissan Motor Company which sold around 71-thousand cars during the same period.
