The Korea Communications Commission (KCC) Chairman Choi See-joong met with his Philippine counterpart John Uy in Manila Wednesday and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to step up broadcasting and telecommunications collaboration.
Choi said that the Philippines, which has a strong demand for mobile telecommunication as the nation comprises of more than seven-thousand islands, will greatly benefit from the import of South Korean technology, including WiBro, the technological excellence of which has been evidenced around the globe.
Uy said that he hopes his nation will learn much knowhow on telecommunications technology and the computer game industry from Korea, which is a leader in information communication technology (ICT). Uy said he hoped bilateral collaboration would facilitate a substantial development in the Philippines’ ICT sector.
The two ministers held a luncheon with members of the Philippines government who had been invited to training at the Korea Internet Security Agency (KISA) and asked for steady bilateral exchanges.
