North Korean leader Kim Jong-il arrived in Changchun of Jilin Province, China on Saturday morning.
Kim’s special train arrived in Changchun at 9:25 A.M. Saturday morning, and he and his entourage headed for a hotel in the Chinese city.
The special train was seen leaving Mudanjiang City in Heilongjiang Province at 9:10 p.m. Friday and passing through Harbin, China past midnight.
On Friday afternoon in Mudanjang, Kim and his entourage visited a site where his father and North Korean founder Kim Il-sung was known to have fought against Japanese colonial rulers.
Later, they attended a welcome party hosted by Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo in a hotel in Mudanjang, which began at 7 p.m.
A South Korean government official said that it's still unknown whether Kim is accompanied by his third son Jong-un. But the younger Kim is not on the list of the 70-member entourage.
The reclusive North Korean leader's latest visit to China is his second in nine months following his trip to the country last August.
