S.Korea, Italy Competing for Israeli Trainer Plane Deal

South Korea and Italy are competing to win an Israeli order for trainer planes.

Israel has a plan to buy up to 30 trainer planes in its first batch once it makes a final selection between South Korea’s T-50 and Italy’s M-346. The deal would be Israel’s first purchase of non-U.S. Air Force planes in 40 years.

Military experts are predicting that Israel will sign the deal with South Korea, as South Korea has shown interest in Israel’s missile defense system Iron Dome.
