The presidential office says President Moon Jae-in will send gifts to some ten-thousand underprivileged people for the Chuseok holiday.

In a news conference Friday, presidential secretary for general affairs Lee Jeong-do stressed the president's focus on consideration for the socially vulnerable.

The presents will be sent to senior citizens living along, single parent families, patients with incurable diseases and patriots as well as social facilities serving single mothers, people with disabilities and dementia patients.

The gifts comprise specialty products from islands around the country such as Jeju liquor, Ulleung Island herbs, Wando anchovies and shrimp from Ganghwa Island.

Moon and the First Lady will also send a Chuseok message with the gifts, wishing for people's dreams to come true and saying that current efforts devoted to building an economy where everybody can live well will one day bear fruit.
