South Koreans are increasingly heading home southward for Chuseok on Saturday, the first day of the five-day long holiday.

Expressways nationwide were congested from early morning. 

The Korea Expressway Corporation said the heavy traffic which built up from 8 a.m. will likely continue through the evening and let up past 11 p.m.

The KEC estimates a total of over four million cars will hit the road on Saturday.
