The nation will continue to see rain on Friday, with heavy snow forecast for mountain areas in Gangwon Province.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on Friday, 20 to 60 more millimeters of rain is expected for eastern Gangwon, North Jeolla and Gyeongsang provinces, with five to 40 millimeters for the capital area and other regions.

Mountain areas with lower temperatures in central and northern Gangwon Province are forecast to receive more than 30 centimeters of snow on Friday.

The precipitation is expected to let up in most parts of the nation on Friday night, but resume in the central region, Jeolla Province and inland areas of Gyeongsang Province early Saturday morning.

Southern coastal areas and Jeju Island are forecast to see strong winds on Friday and Saturday.

Afternoon highs on Friday are expected to range from three to 19 degrees Celsius, including six degrees for Seoul.
