Nearly 15-hundred COVID-19 cases were reported on Tuesday, adding more than one-thousand cases for the 70th consecutive day.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA) said on Tuesday that one-thousand-497 new cases were confirmed throughout Monday, raising the total caseload to 275-thousand-910.
The daily tally rose by 64 from the previous day and remained in the 14-hundred range for the second day.
Of the new cases, one-thousand-463 were locally transmitted infections, while 34 were foreign imports.
By region, the Seoul metropolitan area reported one-thousand-107 cases, accounting for 75-point-seven percent of local infections. The daily tally in the capital area has been over one-thousand for the whole month so far, except for last Monday.
Non-capital regions added 356 cases, accounting for 24-point-three percent.
Seven more people died of the virus, raising the death toll to two-thousand-367. The nation’s fatality rate stands at zero-point-86 percent.
The number of critically ill patients dropped by two from the previous day to 340.
